About the Provider

Laura Wilson is an Adult Geriatric and Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AG-ACNP) who has dedicated her career to the advancement of cardiac health and technologies to support cardiac care.

Ms. Wilson, AG-ACNP, is accredited with the American Association of Heart Failure Nurses and is the only clinically Certified Heart Failure Nurse in the Area. She has spent time in advanced heart failure centers that provide Left Ventricular Assist Device (LVAD) and Heart transplant care. She has been one of the driving forces to bring a Structural Heart Program to El Paso and the surrounding areas. Working with THOP to be able to offer minimally invasive Heart Valve Replacements and device therapy to help reduce stroke related to atrial fibrillation.

As such, she has been an intricate part in obtaining and supporting The Hospitals of Providence –Sierra Campus’s medical accreditations in: Heart Failure, Cardiac Cath Lab, and Chest Pain Center with primary PCI. Sierra Campus has received the National Distinction of Excellence and is recognized as a Heart Care Center specializing in heart failure.

With dedication she has worked towards continuing her education and is a recognized member of the American College of Cardiology. She received her degree from the University of Texas, El Paso, where she has continued to enhance the program she graduated from by helping train and educate the Nurses and Nurse Practitioners of the future.
